When Exit Poverty was established in 2009, we had ambitious objectives to catalyze scalable and sustainable solutions to global development challenges. We set about doing this in ways that were new at the time by tackling different development challenges & worked with a wide range of organizations. Starting 2012, however, our efforts will focus on limited numbers of development issues on small selects group of strategic partners. In preparation for transition we did our strategic plan for 2012-2015 and would move its headquarters’ from Nairobi, Kenya to Montreal Canada.
The future of Exit Poverty will be more tied to those we choose to guide us and their collective commitment to adding value to the our mission. For the next 3 years we will improve our capacity in providing 5 causes in 5 target Africa countries. To succeed in achieving our mission; we need experts in business management, governance, fundraising and project implementation.
We are positioning ourselves to attract funding by strategizing our board members through our new Canada Headquarters to solicit funds and offers program management. By Late 2012, Exit Poverty will open office in Washington DC, USA to take charge of value chains finance. By Early 2013, we expect to have opened charity chapter office in the UK to take leading role on Enhancing Equity and Advancing Good Governance.
The 3 West Offices; Canada, USA and UK will offer funding attraction and key management a prerequisite for our future expansion to other Africa countries as this will allow us to take the boldest of our planning efforts to open 20 chapters through Africa between 2015-2018. Our Africa chapters framework would be run and lead by local people and once chapter has been established, it can apply for its funding locally and get funding with support from Head offices. In same period 2015-2018, Exit Poverty anticipates open more auxiliary charity office in Australia, Netherlands, Switzerland and Finland.
Exit Poverty is set up to address social issues in the most improvised continent in the world; Africa and we anticipate to have covered all Africa countries by 2021. All of exit poverty funding & advocacy efforts will focus on causes that have the best impact on poverty alleviation including; enhancing enterprises, enhancing equity, advocacy good governance, offering value chains finance and inspire change through breakthrough inspire program.
Exit Poverty will work with our partners & our board on getting projects funding, strategic advice, performance analysis and continuously improve our governance as we deepen our impact in 5 Africa countries and be financially viable to expand through Africa. We believe that Exit Poverty has a hugely important role to play in supporting efforts to resolve Africa development challenges, which we will do more of spin-off strategic partnerships by facilitating dialogue with partners .We would like to thank all who have contributed to our mission success.
